The Grand Secretary sets up and follows all the administrative systems by which the Order is enabled to operate.

He looks after the day-to-day administrative correspondence and the supply of information, receives nominations for admission or promotion, keeps the records of members of the Order, is responsible for the texts and translations of announcements, decrees and certificates, oversees the manufacture and provision of insignia and deals with the arrangements for the Order’s international events.

The Grand Secretary liaises with all the persons responsible for the administration of the national jurisdictions.
