The Grand Capitular is charged with maintaining the traditions of the Order.

He is its adviser on matters of history and tradition, carrying out research, drafting reference documents and assembling archives. The Grand Capitular examines issues relating to the drafting of rules and statutes, ceremonial, the design and modification of insignia, uniforms and flags, standards and banners.
